Funeral services for Wilma Patterson, 71, of Ft. Yates will be at 11 AM, Saturday, October 4, 2025, at the Wakpala School Gym. Burial will be at St. Elizabeth's Episcopal Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. A procession will leave the funeral home at 10 AM on Saturday. Wilma passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2025, at the Sunset Drive Good Samaritan Center in Mandan.

Wilma N. (Cadotte) Patterson, Chanté Wašté Win, was born on July 7, 1954, to the late William and Julia (Martin) Cadotte. She was the youngest of nine children. She grew up in several different states as her family was always relocating. She attended Wakpala High School and graduated in 1973. She then attended Mayville College where she received her teaching degree. In 2002 she attended Sitting Bull College where she completed her associate of Science in Early Childhood Education.

Wilma enjoyed attending all pow wows and going to church. She also liked to visit around and enjoy good laughter.

She is survived by her husband Eddie Patterson, many nieces and nephews, grandchildren and cousins, and great grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She also adopted many sisters and brothers throughout her life and career. Many co-workers she worked with became good friends of hers.

She was preceded in death by her parents William Sr. and Julia Cadotte, sisters Melda and Alsace, her brothers William Jr., Francis, Darrell, Robert, Delvin and Henry, and her grandparents Maggie and William Martin.
