Funeral services for Willis Winterberg, age 87, of Timber Lake will be Saturday, June 26 at 10:00 AM, MT at the UCC Church in Timber Lake. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Prayer Service at 7:00 PM at the church. Burial will be at the Timber Lake Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home. Mr. Winterberg passed away Monday, June 21, 2010 at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Willis was born January 5, 1923 in Pollock, SD. He is the son of William and Katherine (Saltenberger) Winterberg. He grew up on a few different farms before his family settled down outside of Timber Lake, SD. In 1943, Willis joined the Navy and became a Seabee. Willis married Irene (Schaeffer) on June 1, 1948 in Timber Lake, SD. Willis and Irene raised six children on their farm outside of Timber Lake, SD. In 1993, he retired from farming and the two moved into a house in town.

Throughout the years, Willis enjoyed doing many things. He was an avid carpenter always making something. He enjoyed telling stories about being on the farm as well as jokes about anything. Willis loved seeing his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Willis is preceded in death by his parents (William and Katherine Winterberg), brother (Clarence), and two sisters (Mildred and Edna)
