Funeral services for William Steder, 72, of Selby will be at 1:30 PM, Friday, December 17, 2021, at St. John Lutheran Church in Selby. Burial will be at the Selby Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Bill passed away Monday, December 13, 2021 at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.

William Karl Steder was born on November 3, 1949, in Mobridge to John and Irma (Schauer) Steder. He was the baby of three sons. He attended school in Selby and later got his GED.

Bill worked as a mechanic in Denver for a while before going trucking for Ron Unterseher. He returned to Selby and worked for Heib Chevrolet and then Zabel Implement for 14 years. Following that he ran parts for John Deere and worked for Game, Fish and Parks.

In 1976 he met the love of his life, Ruby Sieler. They were married on May 6, 1978. They made their home in Selby until 1986 when they moved out to their farm. In June of 2021 they moved back into Selby.

Bill is survived by his wife, Ruby of Selby, brother, Don (Deb) Steder of Selby, sisters-in-law, Mary Thies of Rapid City, Virginia (Dale) Mayer of Selby, Lyla (Elden) Schick of Selby, Betty Prasek of Herreid, Diane Roemmich of Selby and Reta (Larry) Rossow of Herreid, brother-in-law, Ray (Cora) Sieler of Newton, IA, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, John and Irma, brother, Ray, uncle, Milton "Mindy" (Cora) Schauer, cousin, Brad Sagmo, mother and father-in-law, Ludwig and Esther Sieler, brothers-in-law, Gary Sieler, Wilbert Sieler, and Jerry Roemmich.
