Funeral services for William Lawrence, 39, of Ft. Yates will be at 11 AM, CT, Tuesday, June 11, 2019 at the McLaughlin Blue Gym. Burial will be at St. Aloysius Catholic Cemetery in Bullhead under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. An all-night wake services will start at 7 PM Monday at the gym. William passed away Monday, June 3, 2019, at his home in Ft. Yates.

William Joseph Lawrence was born to William Michael Lawrence and Linda (De Rock braine) Lawrence on April 9, 1980 at the Med Center Hospital in Bismarck, North Dakota. William grew up in several places. For the latter part of his life, he grew up in Eagle Butte, SD, Bullhead, SD, and McLaughlin, SD. He graduated from Cheyenne-Eagle Butte High School in May 1998. He then attended college at United Tribes Technical College and graduated in 2002. He received a degree in Automotive Technology.

William worked at Grand River Casino for about thirteen years. He truly enjoyed working at the casino and held various positions.

William is survived by his mother, Linda (De Rock braine) Lawrence, two brothers, Michael T. Lawrence and Joseph A. Lawrence II, one sister, April T. Lawrence, one son, Xavier Baal. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and other relatives. William is survived by three aunts, Lavonne Schmitt, Eleanor Fuchs and Emily Lawrence.

William was a gentle soul and a generous person. He got along well with others and if someone asked him for help he would give it if it was possible.

Preceding him in death is his father, William Michael Lawrence, paternal grandparents, Joseph A. Lawrence and Elaine (Ankle) Lawrence, niece, Roxanne Sitting Dog, nephew, Dennis (Yellow Bird) De Rock braine.
