William Brave Thunder, 50, of McLaughlin, passed away on May 28, 2026, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Billy was born on April 3, 1976, in Bismarck, North Dakota to Victor Brave Thunder and Theresa White Mountain. Billy is the eldest of his five siblings, Valerie Red Fish and Toni White Mountain. Along with Von Brave Thunder, Lori Ann Bruguier, and Victor Brave Thunder Jr.

Nephews, Nieces, and his Grandson Baby Vic. He attended school in McLaughlin, SD and graduated from McLaughlin High School in 1994. During that time, he took up training for professional boxing and was an avid weightlifter.

Billy was a hard worker with success in all positions he held at the Prairie Knights Casino in Fort Yates, ND and Grand River Casino in Mobridge, SD.

His great pride in life was being a father to his children Do Do Girl (Hunter), Padawa (Pandora), and Bombinic (Dominic). Billy took great joy in surprising his family and friends with funny memes of the world. I think we all said, "Oh my goodness, Billy, WHY!" after receiving one of his "funny" memes. Billy was private, but he reached out to his family and friends often, through messenger, reminding us of his unique humor and love.

Enjoying movies like SAW with his kids and family was paramount. While his movie preference was on the horror side, Billy cherished all living beings finding love and comfort from the four legged and winged friends. As a young boy, Billy befriended a barn owl named Mr. Jiggs and a one eared rabbit named Victor. In his final days Billy was surrounded by his family, which included his cats, Mr. Bond, Big Boy, and Sarah. Not forgetting to mention his prized teacup Chihuahua, Angel, all will be taken care of by his children and family.

Survived by his mother, Theresa White Mountain. Grandfather, Anthony White Mountain sr. His son Dominic Brave Thunder. His daughters are Hunter Brave Thunder and Pandora Brave Thunder. His siblings, Valerie Red Fish, Toni Brave Thunder, Von Brave Thunder, Lori Ann Brugurier, Victor Brave Thunder jr. Nephews and Nieces, Nate, Yumni, Cheyenne Dakota and grandson baby Vic, Hunkpapa Thiyospaye, and War Bonnet Sicangu Thiyospaye. All relatives will be at Billy's burial, July 2nd, 2026, at 1:30 PM with a feed at 2:30 PM at the White Mountain Cemetery, Rural Bullhead, in spirit or body
