Wayne Lloyd Bobtail Bear was born June 15, 1967 to the late Rev. Leslie and Henrietta (GrindStone) Bobtail Bear Sr. in Fort Yates, ND.

In his younger years growing up, he enjoyed the time he spent being around his family, friends, and relatives.  Wayne and his siblings first language was Lakota.  It was spoken in the home by his mother fluently.  He took pride in his Lakota language by continuing to speak among his family and extended family.

Wayne attended grade school in Wambli Cikila up until the 8 th grade.  He then went onto high school in Fort Yates, ND where he earned his high school diploma with the graduating class of "1985."

He was a proud "Takoja" team player.  Brought together and named by his late Aunt Adele and her husband Mr. Dale Little Dog.  They took them to many places to play in Independent Basketball Tournaments.  They built their basketball skills and earned a reputation for the "Takojas" team name.

The family together lived in various places where their father did his ministry.  They moved home to Wambli Cikila in 1997.  He resided with his family up until Wakantanka called him home.

He loved being around his family, friends, and relatives all the days of his life.  He always had a helping hand for anything he was asked to do.  He helped around the church where his father was.  He enjoyed taking walks from the country to the community or to visit one of his relatives.  He lived a common life by being proud of how he was taught and raised.  His kindness, humble heart, and presence will be missed dearly.  Especially in the country where it will always be a place to call "Home" for them all.

He leaves behind his four children Corben, Colton, Ashley, and Addison whom he loved very much.  Also surviving are his siblings LeRoy, Donald, Valencia, Stewart Sr., Chat Sr., and Eric Sr. that were bonded together with everlasting love by their parents.  He had precious grandchildren and many cousins on both sides of his family.  His nieces and nephews loved his compassion he had spread throughout his life.  He spent quality time as much as he could and when needed.

He was proceeded in death by his loving parents Reverend Leslie and Henrietta Bobtail Bear, paternal grandparents Willy and Thelma Bobtail Bear, maternal grandparents Henry and Nellie Grindstone, two brothers Titus Bobtail Bear, Sr., and Leslie Bobtail Bear, Jr.
