Memorial services for Walter Weber age 89 of Mobridge will be 10:30 AM Tuesday, September 5, 2017 at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge, SD. Inurnment will be in the Trail City Cemetery at a later date under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home. Walter passed away Monday, August 28, 2017 at the Mobridge Care Center.
Walter was born October 25, 1927 at Trail City, SD, to Edward and Mary (Rieger) Weber. He was raised in the Glencross area.
Walter worked for many area ranches as a ranch hand. He worked for the Diamond A Ranch near Eagle Butte. He also worked in the Long Lake area for Dairy Farmers. After retirement the Mobridge Senior Citizen's Center became his 2nd home. He was also able to help out with the fund raising that needed to be done in the community. Walter sold many raffles tickets for numerous organizations in Mobridge.
Walter was the longest resident of 23 years with the Costello Apartments in Mobridge. He was very proud of that milestone.
Walter is survived by his nieces Viola (Charles) Galusha of Mobridge, Shirley (Eddy) Schaeffer of Eureka, Sharon (Dennis) Boschee and Karen Heyd and a nephew Jack (Mavis) Heyd of Aberdeen, 2 brothers, Herman Weber of Aberdeen, Alvin Weber of Rapid City, step-sister, Sally Allen, step-brother, Fred Mehlhoff, special friends, Jerry Chase, Elise Wohl, and Betty Swanson.
Walter was preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Helen Weber, Viola Weber, Matilda Heyd, brother Clarence Weber, nephew, Richard Heyd.
