Funeral services for Violet Maciejewski, age 86, of Timber Lake will be 2:00 PM CT Tuesday, August 14, 2012 at Kesling Funeral Home. Private family burial will be in the Timber Lake Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD. Visitation will be from Noon to 2 PM on Tuesday at the Kesling Funeral Home. Violet passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at Selby Good Samaritan Center.

Violet was born May 3, 1926 on the ranch home of her parents, Carl and Clara (Njos) TePoel. They lived 15 miles southwest of Isabel, SD. Violet attended the Grondahl School for 10 years and attended Isabel High School for one year graduating from Mobridge High School in 1944. Violet attended Northern State College and spent three years teaching in Ziebach and Dewey counties. She was a stenographer for the Dewey County Agent at the time of her marriage.

On May 17, 1947, Violet and John Maciejewski were married at Custer, SD. They made their home 6 miles southeast of Timber Lake, where they farmed and ranched their entire lives. Violet enjoyed raising poultry and bum lambs. She cooked countless meals for the ranch crews and was very efficient with keeping records for the ranching operation. She was a wonderful Grandmother and always had time to spend with her grandchildren.

John died on February 3, 2004. A year later Violet moved into an apartment in the Timber Lake Manor. In May of 2012 she became a resident of the Good Samaritan Society at Selby, SD.

Violet is survived by her two sons, Lyle (Charlene) of Savannah, GA and Edward (Mary Jo) of Timber Lake; 5 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; her sisters, Jule Eidam of Gettysburg, Charlotte Goldade of Mobridge, Marie Ozane of Arizona and Carol (Tom) Warborg of Port Orchard, WA.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John, her parents, 2 sisters and 2 brothers.
