Obituary

Violet Marie Larson entered the spirit world on March 2, 2016 at Mobridge Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. MT on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte with Mother Margaret Watson officiating. Burial will be at the Ascension Episcopal Cemetery at Blackfoot under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. An all night wake will be held Friday, March 11 beginning at 7 p.m. MT at St. John's Episcopal Church.

Sisters of Harmony will provide music and the drum group will be Takojas.

Violet was born March 20, 1938 at the Old Cheyenne Agency to Edwin and Mary Lovelette. She grew up at Cheyenne Agency with her four siblings. She attended Cheyenne Agency Boarding School. She lived at White Horse and Timber Lake. She became a resident at Golden Living Center in Mobridge in 2013. Violet enjoyed walking, crocheting, crochet and needlepoint. She was Resident of the Month at the GLC in March, 2015. She was a very social person and enjoyed gatherings. At Timber Lake she attended New Hope Church.

She is survived by her daughter Brandi Kills Crow of White Horse; three grandchildren — Andrew (Sayde) Smith of Aberdeen, Richard (Shanna) Smith of White Horse, and Joanna Kills Crow of Aberdeen; two brothers, Wayne (Karen) Lovelette of Eagle Butte and Lloyd Lovelette of Blunt; two step-sons Darwin and Doug Larson; a sister Martina Cox of Shelby, MT; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Violet was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Mary Lovelette, a brother Edward Lovelette; one granddaughter-in-law Robin Coleman; and her husbands, Fielding Kills Crow and Dennis Larson.

Casket bearers will be Robert Walters, Scott Lovelette, Willard Walters, Dezman Smith, Robert Smith, Shawn Traversie, and C.C.. Smith. Honorary casket bearers are the staff at the Mobridge Care Center and all relatives and friends.

As everyone knows, Violet had a loving heart. She had a hug and kiss for all. No one person meant more or less to her precious heart. However, her family would like to send special thanks to the Golden Living Center staff and residents.
