Vallee Rae Anderson, 85, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 11th, 2020 with her family by her side.

Vallee Rae was born on November 5th, 1935 to parents Alferd and Mabel Malloy at the family farm near Firesteel, SD.

On May 20th, 1956 she married Russell "Boyd" Anderson and together they had four children, Duane, Larry, LeeAnn, and Patrick.

Vallee Rae dedicated much of her life as the business manager at the Eagle Butte Public School and also worked at the Eagle Butte Post Office for over 30 years.

She was an avid animal lover and could never turn away a stray from her loving home. Her kind and loving heart extended to many people as well and she would never hesitate to help someone in need.  She would always offer others a warm meal, a listening ear, or a gentle hug and she became like a second mother to many.

She had a love for reading and never was without a good book.  She also enjoyed writing poetry and was actively involved in the United Church of Christ. In the summer of 2019, she was able to fulfill her dream of visiting Ireland.  She truly treasured the beauty, sights, and traditions of her Irish heritage.

Vallee Rae was a fearless woman who faced many hurdles over the years which she overcame with immense courage and determination.

She was a little woman who left a big mark and she will forever leave a lasting impression to those who know and love her.

Vallee Rae was preceded in death by her parents, her Stepmother Viola "Buddie" Malloy, and her three brothers Gene, Dallas, and Marles.

Survivors are her husband Russell "Boyd" Anderson, her children Duane (Julie) Anderson of Pierre, Larry (Kathy) Anderson of Eagle Butte, LeeAnn (Bill) Collins of Spearfish, and Patrick Anderson (Cassy Oviatt) of Edgemont, grandchildren Kade Anderson, Ray Michael Anderson, Shannon Anderson, Hali Olson, Tanner Triscori, and Ashley Even, as well as 12 great grandchildren, her sister Geraldine (Jerry) Patterson, stepbrother Vincent Humann, and stepsisters Sylvia Kempf, Patti Kjellsen, and Kathellen Lehrkamp.

Funeral services will be held at the Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge, SD on Monday December 21, 2020 at 11:00 am (Central Time) followed by fellowship/lunch at the Family Worship Center.  Burial at 3:00 pm (Central Time) at the Timber Lake Cemetery.
