Mass of Christian Burial for Valerie Hunter, age 43, of Mobridge will be at 10 MT, Tuesday, September 7, 2010 at the Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church in Kyle, SD with Fr. Rick Abert officiating. Burial will be in the Catholic Cemetery in Kyle. The wake service will start at 8 PM Monday at the church. Visitation will be starting at 2 PM on Friday with a prayer service at 7 PM at Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge with Deacon Paul Keller officiating. Valerie passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2010 at St. Alexius Hospital in Bismarck. Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge and Sioux Funeral Home of Pine Ridge are in charge of arrangements.
Valerie Theresa Hunter was born on May 12, 1967 in Rapid City to Leonard and Elvira (Sherman) Hunter. She grew up and attended school in Kyle, SD. Following school she lived in Pine Ridge and White River before settling in Mobridge in June of 1998 where she has since resided. Valerie met Brad Waechter in September of 1998 and forged a special relationship ever since.
Valerie enjoyed helping and caring for others whether it was cooking and feeding everyone or joking around everyone enjoyed her company. She loved her dog and enjoyed spending time on the river fishing.
She is survived by her special friend Brad Waechter of Mobridge, three daughters, Leslie Apple (Fiancé Tony Williamson) of Mobridge, Kateri Hunter of Mobridge and Brandie Hunter of Mobridge, one son, William Apple of Mobridge, three grandchildren, Alichea Apple, Taschawna Apple and Nicholas Hunter, one sister, Penny Downham Hunter of Kyle, SD. and numerous nieces, nephews and aunts, uncles and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her parents, son, Duane "J.R." Apple Jr., a Grandma, Helena Montileaux, sister, Arlette Starbuck Hunter.
Casketbearers are Arlin Hunter, Jim Hunter, Chuck Kieffe, Tony Williamson, William Apple, and Lenny Downham.
