Mass of Christian Burial for Valentine (Val) Krumm, 81 of Trail City, will be at 10 AM MT, Thursday, November 4, 2010 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Trail City. Burial will be in the Trail City Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be from 1-3 PM CT Wednesday at the funeral home and starting at 6 PM MT at the church with a prayer service at 7 PM MT. Val passed away Tuesday, Oct. 26, 2010 at Regions Hospital in St. Paul, MN.

Valentine Krumm of Trail City, SD went home to be with the Lord on October 26th after injuries sustained in the fire that took their home on October 23rd.

Val was born to Jacob and Anna (Wolf) Krumm on September 2nd 1929. The Krumm's made their home in Trail City in 1924. Val attended the Trail City School and worked in the family business until the time that his father Jacob retired in 1965. It was at that time Val and his brother Pete took over the family business. Valentine married Joanne Scholzen in 1958. They took over the home place in 1965 after his parents retired and moved to Mobridge. He continued to live on the family ranch until the October 23rd 2010.

Valentine and Joanne spent years of doing what they loved best working on their farm/ranch, loving their children, grandchildren, and family and friends. Valentine was preceded in death by his son, Dennis, father, Jacob, mother, Anna, and brother, Jim.

Val and Joanne had 7 children. Brenda (Brad Schultz) of Bigelow, MN have 6 children and 3 grandchildren, Dennis (deceased), Paul (Paula) of Worthington, MN have 4 children, Paulette (Scott Sjogren) of Reading, MN have 3 children, Doretta of Marshall, MN have 2 children, Colette of Bismarck, ND has 1 child, and Tom of Worthington, MN have 3 children.

Valentine's surviving brother and sisters: Pete Krumm (Trail City, SD), Mary Seurer (St. Louis Park, MN), Regina (Valentine) Goldade (Rapid City, SD), Betty (Gil) Haar (Watertown, SD).
