Graveside services for Valene Little Bird, 41, will be at 11 AM, Wednesday, June 1, 2022, at Big Lake Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Valene passed away May 10, 2022 in Bismarck.

Valene Renee Little Bird was born on March 20, 1981, to Lois Mae Little Bird and Aljo Spotted Elk of Cannonball.

She attended Solen High School and Standing Rock High School. In high school she competed in track and cross country. Her favorite thing was beading. She loved spending time with family, crosswords, sudoku, word search. She always had a joke for somebody to smile about.

Valene is survived by one son, Morgan Thomas Silk Jr., three sisters, Lisa Little Bird, Jaimee Lynn Stretches, and Alex Spotted Elk, three brothers, Shawn Standing Bear, Travis Spotted Elk,

Valene enjoyed working various jobs. She was a hotline cook, food runner, Feast of the Rock server for PKC and worked at IHS in Medical Records with Tabitha Silk. She was willing to help any soul in her path.

Shared memories with her grandchildren, Marias and Morganna Star, and their mother Kylene Starr.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Lois Little Bird and Aljo Spotted Elk, grandmother, Florence Little Bird, Aunties, Gertrude and Janice Little Bird, a brother, Maurice Standing Bear.
