Funeral services for Ty Yancie Running Hawk age 27 of McLaughlin will be 11:00 AM CDT Friday, August 7, 2020 at the family home. Visitation will begin at 10:00 at the house. Family and friends to follow from Kesling Funeral Home at 9:00 AM on Friday. Kesling Funeral Home has been entrusted with Ty services. Cremation to take place after the services.
Ty Yancie Running Hawk, Cetan'Kokipesni (Not Afraid of Hawk)
Left behind his beloved family on Friday; July 24, 2020 at the Mobridge Hospital; while he was "sleeping"; with his Mom and Lala Everette by his bed side. Ty was waiting to hear "one" more voice before beginning his journey. His, Dad, Dave was on the outside of his hospital room window; told his Mom, tell "My" son, I love him, give him a hug and a kiss for me. No later than 5 minutes after that was said and done; Ty left the physical world; Ty got his wish, before days' end, he always told his sisters; when I get ready to leave; I want Gramma Elizabeth, Gramma Grace and Grandpa Jerry to be waiting for me, because I miss them so much.
Ty was born on December 30, 1992 to Stefanie Jamerson and grew with his "Dad-Dad"; Dave Running Hawk since 1995. Ty was baptized at the Messiah UCC at Little Oak Creek. Ty got his Indian name from his Lala Everette when he was 3 y ears old. Ty attended Bear Soldier Head start and finished in 1998. He became a life time McLaughlin Midget when he started Kindergarten and finished his Senior Year in 2011. Ty loved football; so he began in Middle school with Mr. Vasques; he finished out his season in his Senior Year. Ty was later convinced to join Basketball; so he played his Freshman to Senior Year; under Mr. Fredricks and Mr. Taken Alive. Ty gave us a good season; and his Grandpa Jerry was always proud of him for playing ball, Jerry never got to see Ty's Senior Year; as he passed away.
Ty was also Middle School Valentine's Day King; He became Prom King and Home Coming King, during his School years. Ty had a beautiful soul; he loved to make new friends; he talked with all his under classman during his school years. After Graduation, Ty had the opportunity to play with Francis Crawford's' Team Wambli; traveling to NABI. Ty also joined the BIA Land Management Fire Fighting Crew and seen the country with his Brother; Leon (Eagle Pipe) Jamerson and Tucker Demery. Ty met some good friends while he was on Board. Ty did work with PKC as a Cocktail Server and GRC as a security officer; before working with Standing Rock Housing, till he had an accident. He then started to work with a great crew at the Bear Soldier Head start; his former staff told family that he was so respectful and always did his job to the best of his abilities; up until he had to leave due to a medical condition.
In the year of March 2013; Ty was blessed with his only son, Kasten Running Hawk whom he raised and loved spending his every day with. His son, was his little world. Ty was very close to his immediate family; he loved spending time with Gramma Elizabeth's' Original (9) which he called his "brothers and sisters": Wilbur Jr; Wade and Jenni Makes Him First; Alicia Village Center and Shania Jamerson; Kirajo Jamerson; Leon Jamerson and his only baby sister, Shay Running Hawk.
Ty leaves behind; his son, Kasten; his Mom and Dad; Steff and Dave; his sister; Shay & Baby & (Jerry) Running Hawk, his Lala Everette; Grandpa Joe; and Frank & Geraldine Jamerson family. His Aunts; Lovey; Hope (Larry) Jamerson and Susan (Steve) Defender; His only Uncle; Kevin Jamerson, cousins, Julian and Danira Hoon. Ty also leaves; his (5) Nephews and (4) Nieces.
Paternal Grandmother; Elizabeth Bruguier; Gerald Running Hawk Jr and children; Lolita White Twin and family, Kristen Steele and family; Great Grandmother Anna Mae Steele; Paternal Grandfather Roger Steele and Paternal Grandmother Pearl Steele-Hagen.
Ty was a great socializer and met a lot of friends; he will be missed by so many; Ty had a lot of Friends he called "Bros" (Brothers).
Ty is preceded to the afterlife with his Maternal Grandma Elizabeth Jamerson, Great Grandma & Grandpa Bud and Grace Jamerson. Aunt; Charity Jamerson. Paternal Grandfather; Gerald "Jerry" Running Hawk; Gerald "Yamni" and Patrick Running Hawk.
