Funeral services for Troy Nieuwsma, 60, of Kittredge, CO will be at 10:30 AM, Friday, November 1, 2024 at the Pollock Memorial Presbyterian Church in Pollock, SD. with Pastor Floyd Haan officiating. Inurnment will be at the Hull Cemetery at a later date.

Troy Duran Nieuwsma was born on August 10, 1964, to Willard and Sylvia (Vander Vorst) Nieuwsma at the Linton Hospital in Linton, ND. He joined an older sister, Natalie Sue when he arrived.

Troy attended Bakker Grade School at Westfield, ND and graduated from Pollock, SD, high school in 1982. He then attended college at the University of Mary at Bismarck, ND, and the University of Sioux Falls where he graduated with a bachelors degree.

He was employed with the US Postal Service and sent to various states to work on project assignments. He met Shana Mansfield while working at the Kittredge Post Office in Kittredge, CO. They were married June 21, 2021. He was currently employed at that post office for the past 6 years.

Troy especially enjoyed hunting and baseball and was a hard worker at every job he tackled.

Troy is survived by his wife, Shana Mansfield of Kittredge, CO, Troy's children, Christopher, Ryan, Dakota, Arayna, Tanner and stepchildren, Meagan and Kyle, father, Willard Nieuwsma of Pollock, SD, brother, Shane (Amanda) Nieuwsma of Murfreesboro, TN, special nieces & nephews, Chestney, Tilman, Jaxson & Colson Nieuwsma.

Troy was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia (2008), sister, Natalie (1981) and his grandparents.
