Funeral services for Tom T. Traversie, 29, of Eagle Butte will be 11:00 CST Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at White Horse Community Center, White Horse. All night wake begins 5:00 PM Monday, February 6, 2017 at the center. Family and friends are asked to meet at the White Horse junction at 4;; PM CST to process to the center. Tom was found on January 31, 2017 near Eagle Butte. Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge has been entrusted with the arrangements.
Tom T Traversie was born on May 22, 1987 in Chamberlain, SD to the late Tom Traversie and Charlene (Thompson) Traversie. At the time of his birth the family was living in White Horse, then in March of 88 they moved to Huron, SD. In April of 1990, they moved back to the Flat by White Horse to take care of Grandpa Blaine. This was when T and Robert went to find their pot of gold, walking from the house following the ridgeline for a couple miles. Tom T's loving nature showed when he would rescue calico kittens from trees. Tom T attended the White Horse Headstart, Timber Lake School, Cheyenne Eagle Butte School and then graduated from the Tiospaye Topa High School in 2005.
Tom T loved having a good time, you would often find him hanging with his buddies having a cold one. He was always outside hunting, fishing, or just helping out with brandings. When he wasn't cutting studs, he was out trying to be a stud.

His dad taught him to be a skilled horseman, because of this, Tom T held various jobs doing ranch work with area ranchers. He also worked in North Dakota and Wyoming. Tom T loved his many nieces and nephews, he would often stop in randomly just to see them. His nephews; Dillon, Nathan, Adam, Landon, Alex, Lander, Jace, Daren, Tait, and Jayden, nieces; A'dyn, Tomi, and Avry.

In 2011, Tom T welcomed his only child, Ayden James Traversie on January 7th. Ayden became Tom T's pride and joy.

Survivors include: Son Ayden James, Mother Charlene Traversie. Sisters: Kalla (Paul) Vieth, LuAnn (Delbert Bruguier) Traversie, Duray (Katy Morgan) Moran, Jessica (Robert Booth) Dupris, Kristine Traversie. Brothers: Robert Traversie and Ty Paul (Shayna) Traversie. Godparents: Geritol & Darshan Long and Doc & Charlie Pesicka Godsons: Trentin Long, Jesse Halfred, and Xadyn LaPlante.

He was preceded in death by his dad, Tom Traversie, his fiancé Megan High Bear, Paternal grandparents Blaine and Edith Traversie, Maternal grandparents Charlie Thompson and Veronica Iron Lightning. Uncles Delbert Traversie and Merril (Fuzzy) Thompson. Cousins Duffy Dupris, T.C. Holloway, and Smokey Traversie. Close friends Thomas LaPlante, Jake & KC Longbrake, and Flint Dahl.
