Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas Carry Moccasin age 40 of Sioux City, IA will be at 10 AM CT, Saturday, November 19, 2016 at St. James Catholic Church in Porcupine. All night wakes services will be at 7PM at the Porcupine Community Center. Thomas passed away Saturday, November 12, 2016 at Mercer Medical Center in Sioux City, IA. Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge is in charge of arrangements.
Thomas Albert Carry Moccasin was born on April 3, 1976 in Bismarck, ND, to Sylvia Culbertson and James Carry Moccasin Sr. He was raised in the Porcupine Selfridge area where he also attended school. Following school he attended the job corps and received a certificate for cooking. He moved to Bismarck in 2007 and worked as an RA at United Tribes. Josh also worked at the Golden Corral in Grand Forks and Bismarck. Josh loved to do construction work. In 2006 he began a relationship with Jana McDonald. Together they had a daughter Sofie on August 18, 2012. Josh and Jana raised a lot of children throughout the years and he loved every one. In 2016 Josh and his family moved to Sioux City, IA, where he has since resided.
Josh enjoyed going to pow wows every summer where he would meet new friends and see old friends.
Josh is survived by his wife, Jana and daughter, Sofie, sons, Anthony (Sindi) Good Bird, Richard "Bear" Two Hearts, parents, Sylvia Culbertson and James Carry Moccasin Sr., brothers, Joseph E.
