A Mass of Christian Burial for Thomas E. Hahne, 87 of Selby, SD will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2025, at 10:30 AM at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Selby. Inurnment will take place at Selby Memorial Gardens. Thomas died on Friday, October 31, 2025, at the Bowdle Nursing Home. Arrangements are entrusted to Kesling Funeral Home, Mobridge, SD.
Thomas Edward Hahne was born December 29, 1937, in Herreid, South Dakota to Jacob and Elizabeth Hahne. He grew up in Herreid and graduated from Herreid High School in 1957.
Thomas married Myra Moos on February 6, 1960, in Selby at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. He worked as a mechanic in Eagle Butte, Gettysburg and then moved to Selby in 1962 where he worked at Rabenberg Implement. Thomas started K&H Garage with Leander and Jerry Kosters. In 1974, he started Tom's Auto Service in Selby.
After retirement, Tom and Myra traveled to Texas and Nevada for the winter. In the summer months Tom worked on boats, enjoyed fishing and tinkering in his garage.
In September 2023, he moved into the Bowdle nursing home and lived there until his death on October 31, 2025.
Survivors include his wife Myra of Selby, two sons, Tim Hahne of Selby, Craig Hahne and wife Vickie of Ramsey, MN, Kim Hahne of Java and Michele Maier and husband Randy of Rapid City, nine grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents, mother and father-in-law, Albert and Luella Moos, three sisters and seven brothers, two sisters-in-law and one brother-in-law.
