Obituary
Memorial Service and Celebration of life will be held at 6:30 PM on Saturday, September 3rd 2016 at Kesling Funeral Home. A gathering for family and friends to celebrate the great memory of Tom will be held at Rick's Café following the service.
Thomas Dale Anderson (Tom) died peacefully in his San Ramon, CA home after a brave nine month battle with esophageal cancer at the age of 48 surrounded by his family on July 25, 2016.
Tom was born to Helen and Harvey Anderson on May 7, 1968. He graduated from Mobridge High School in 1986 after which he enlisted in the US Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1990.
He began working in the Petroleum/Petrochemical Industry where he met his wife Laura Bjorklund. They were married on July 5, 1996. He was employed by Intertek as Branch Manager. The couple welcomed two daughters into their home over the next 6 years, Kendal in 1998 and Taylor in 2002. They remember their father as playful, funny, loving, caring, hard-working, easy going, humble and kind-hearted. He enjoyed watching the Minnesota Vikings games, The Golden State Warriors games, golf, road trips and visiting National Parks. He was extremely dedicated to his entire family, which includes his sisters, mom, nieces and nephews, sister-in-laws and brother-in-laws, uncles and aunts.
Tom is survived by his wife, Laura Bjorklund Anderson and daughters Kendal Nicole and Taylor Renee of San Ramon, CA; his mother, Helen Anderson of Mobridge, SD; his grandmother, Ella Mitzel; Sister, Tamara Prasek of Mound City, SD her children Jon (Adria) Jackson of Yelm, WA Erica (Jeff) Frey of Mobridge, SD James Prasek of Mobridge, SD Josh Prasek of Mound City, SD and Chlesea Prasek of Sioux Falls, SD. Sister Sandra Anderson (Corky Jackson) of Renner, SD their children Theresa (Jason) Kratochvil of Volga, SD Cassie (Joel) Renli of Sioux Falls, SD and Brittani (Eric) Lagergren of Duluth, MN. Sister Melissa Anderson (Mike Rystrom) of Westport, SD and their children Katie Rystrom of Aberdeen, SD and Skyler Rystrom of Westport, SD.
He is preceded in death by his father, Harvey Anderson; grandparents George and Elna Anderson and Adam Mitzel; two nieces Ashley Prasek and Samantha Anderson; and his brother-in-law David Prasek.
