Funeral services for Theodore "Ted" Moser 85 of Mound City, SD will be 10:30 AM Saturday August 5, 2017 at Norway Lutheran Church rural Glenham. Burial will be at Mound City Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday August 4, 2017 at Kesling Funeral Home. Ted passed away Monday, July 31st, 2017 at Avera St. Luke's Hospital in Aberdeen.
Theodore "Ted" Moser was born April 11, 1932 to John and Mary (Wenz) Moser in rural Campbell County, South Dakota. He grew up on the family farm, and attend rural school. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953-1955.
On October 26, 1958, Ted married Shirley Huber at the Herreid Baptist Church. To this union, four children were born, Roxane, Craig, Kevin, and Melanie. Together they farmed and raised their family near Mound City, South Dakota. Ted and Shirley milked cows for many years until their dairy barn burned down in 1999. They retired from their dairy farm and moved into Mound City in April of 2000. At this time, their sons Craig and Kevin took over the farming operation.
Ted loved attending auction sales, driving out to the farm, and visiting with his friends at the café over a cup of coffee and a piece of pie.
He was a member of the Herreid American Legion and the Norway Lutheran Church.
Ted is survived by his wife Shirley of Mound City, one son Kevin (Patty) Moser of Mound City, two daughters, Roxane (Tracy) Severson of Watertown, Melanie (Troy) Podoll of Aberdeen, daughter-in-law Sheila Moser of Mobridge, grandchildren: Misty (Matt) Bekaert, Dustin Schlosser, Tanner Severson and Taylor Severson, Amy Moser, Austin Moser, Makaela Moser, Kassidy Moser, Sean Moser, Peyton Podoll, Paige Podoll, Keely Podoll, Haydn Podoll, Eden Podoll, step grandchildren: Channing Felch, and Donata Felch, great grandchildren: Destiny Bekaert, Lee Bekaert, Lincoln Schlosser, step great grandchild: Avery Erickson, one brother Darold Moser of Mound City and a half-brother Carl Moser of Selby.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents John in 1989 and Mary (Wenz) Moser in 1958, one son Craig Moser in 2005, sister's Tillie Bauer, Rose (Follmer) Wacker, and Lydia Jahraus.
