IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Terrence Carlos
May
July 11, 1953 – September 24, 2020
"The collective IQ of the world dropped a point on Thursday, September 24th in the passing of Terrence Carlos May, 67, aka Ray May. Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge is in charge of arrangments.
Terry was born in Long Beach California, July 11, 1953 to Joan (Turner) and Carlos May. He later moved with his family to South Dakota where he graduated from Mobridge High School in 1972. Terry attended Northern State University, majoring in physics with math and drafting. He studied at Ashford University for Business Management.
Terry had several talents, one notable one was when he built a scaled down replica of the Palomar Observatory in his teens. At 18, he became a locomotive engineer. He was a pool instructor for the Corner Pockets. He programmed computers and could fix anything. He was MacGyver and Spock rolled into one.
Eventually Terry became a Construction Project Superintendent, overseeing the building of hospitals, banks, schools and high-end homes across the nation.
Thoughts and lessons he left us with: Be humble on the pool table, your word is the most valuable thing you possess, you earn what you have, how to do a cartwheel, and always look up at the stars.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan (Turner) May, and father, Carlos May.
He is survived by his brother, Kim May, sister, LaReina (May) Kriewald, son, Steven May, and stepdaughter, Kristen Rees
