Mass of Christian Burial for Teresa Talley, 46, of Kenel will be at 11 AM, CT, Saturday, December 31, 2016 at the Catholic Church of Assumption in Kenel. Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will start at 5 PM with a Scriptural Wake Service at 7 PM Friday at the church. Teresa passed away Friday, December 23, 2016 at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo.

Teresa (Terri) Thalia Talley was born October 14, 1970 in Fort Yates, ND to Mickey Talley and Marcella "Talley" Vermillion. Terri and her family lived in Sioux Falls, SD, before moving to Kenel, SD in early 1980. Terri attended school in Fort Yates, ND, graduating from Standing Rock High School in 1988 with honors. She attended college at Sitting Bull College and the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. Terri continued to reside in Kenel all of these years, raising her children Kyle and Erika, while working for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe and the Standing Rock Housing Authority. At the time of her passing, Terri was employed with the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe Tax Department. Terri was often complimented by co-workers and supervisors on her work ethic, commitment to the organization, positive relationships in the work place, and her generosity.

Terri had an infectious smile and lived everyday to the fullest. She loved spending time with her kids, grandkids and her brothers and sisters. Terri was a very kind and humble person. She always made time for others and was always willing to help others in their time of need. She enjoyed baking/cooking, playing board and card games, camping, fishing, "family fun nights", and trips to the Casino with her sisters. Terri had a big heart and was a joy to be around. She was very committed to her family and to her faith. She loved collecting candles, nights by the campfire, and her morning coffee with her uncle Anthony. She was a beautiful person, on the inside and out, and will be missed dearly.

Grateful for having the privilege of sharing her life are her children Kyle Howard and Erika Talley, grandchildren Hayley, Kylie, Lily, and Zaden; sisters Julie Talley, Kenel, SD, Renae (Mark)Talley, McLaughlin, SD; brothers Dustin (Jessie) Talley, Mobridge, SD, Michael (Jackie) Talley, Rapid City, SD, Hunter Talley, Hutchinson, KS, her longtime companion of 15 years Galen Crow Ghost, father Mickey Talley, Hutchinson, KS, uncles Anthony Vermillion, Kenel, SD, and Duane (Laurel) Vermillion, McLaughlin, SD, nephews Camden, Brady, Shawn, Dennis, Jerome, Andrew, and Tristen, nieces Teylor, Jestice, Tiara, Kiana, and Kaelynn, special aunties Maureen Marshall and Janet Thompson, her Godmother Angeline Montclair, Godchildren Tiara Flying Horse and Allysa White Bull, as well as numerous cousins, aunts & uncles, co-workers, and friends. She was preceded on her journey to the spirit world by her mother Marcella "Talley" Vermillion, grandmothers Lorraine Vermillion and Wilma Nicholson, grandfathers Jerome Vermillion and Sherman Nicholson, uncles Arthur and Earl Vermillion, granddaughter Amiyah Talley, Godfather Robert "Bob" Montclair and special cousin Lola LaFromboise.
