Teresa dealt with health issues leading to her unexpected passing on October 31, 2025, surrounded by her loving family at the St. David's South Austin Medical Center, Austin, TX.
Teresa Lynn Caywood was born on June 5, 1957 in Denver, CO, to Larry and Mary Caywood. She grew up in Denver attending her dad's beauty college and working there.
Teresa married the love of her life Tom Fischer on July 28, 1984. The couple making their home in Arvada, CO, and raising their two children from her previous marriage, and welcoming their 2nd daughter in 1991. In 1997 they moved east of Denver to Elizabeth, CO.
Teresa wore many hats during her career… working in the accounting departments of a few companies, again joining her dad at his jewelry store, and in the mortgage and banking industry before taking a break during her youngest daughter's school years. She sunsetted her working years as an Operation Agent for Great Lakes Airline.
Upon retiring Tom and Teresa moved to Wakpala, SD, realizing Tom's dream of coming back home. Although she wasn't a fan of the cooler temperatures, being closer to her grandkids was important to her. Teresa loved spending summers camping in the Black Hills and near Mobridge and the Fourth of July traditions. Teresa was a very artistic person, she enjoyed her hobbies of embroidery, painting ceramics (her Christmas village being one of her proudest creations) and more recently Diamond Art. She used these abilities in creating more traditions like embroidered blankets for each grandchild upon birth, snow globes and ornaments for her kids that will be cherished for lifetimes. She will be greatly missed by family and friends.
Teresa is preceded in death by her father, Larry Caywood Sr., step-father, Lyle Stackhouse, father-in-law, Milton Fischer, first born son, J.J. Dryer, and nephew, Fred Fischer Jr.
