Funeral services for Tayna Leaf, 47, of Bullhead will be at 11 AM, Monday, November 27, 2023, at Redeemer Lutheran Church in McLaughlin. Burial will be at St. John's Episcopal Cemetery in Bullhead under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. A procession will leave at 3 PM Sunday for a prayer service at 6 PM at the church. Tayna passed away Saturday, November 18, 2023, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Tanya Crystal Leaf was born on June 4, 1976, to Eugene Leaf Sr. and Renee Crow Ghost in Bismarck, North Dakota. She attended Bullhead Headstart, Bullhead school in grade school, LDS Placement Program in Idaho, and Standing Rock High School. She ran cross country and played basketball. She also participated in the Job-Summer Youth Program.

Tanya loved spending time with her family and friends. Tayna has 5 children, Tanner, Tessa, Tyson, Houston and Rita. She is blessed with 5 grandchildren. Paris, Nina, Souline, Tenzin and Wachapi Ska, who is in the heavenly kingdom. Tanya has a special friend, Keith Swalley whom is very close to her little girl, Rita.

Tanya enjoys socializing with her numerous friends. She had many, many friends. She was generous and was always helping others. She enjoys cleaning wherever she might be. A very clean lady. She will be missed very much. Tanya loved her 6 brothers, Billy, Hershel, Carlos, Skye Jordon and Jre and her sister, Marlene.

Tanya loved sports, basketball and cross county with that being her favorite. She was a runner for the    Bullhead school when she was in grades 6 & 7. She also ran for Standing Rock High School in numerous cross county meets representing the warriors. Tanya was selected as one of the top 25 cross country runners from the United States to participate and recognized in Park City, UT. Thanks to Sherry Sinyon who took her to Utah.

Tanya is survived by her children, mother, Renee Crow Ghost, brothers, sister, nieces & nephews, Hershel Crow Ghost Jr., Rachel and Evan Crow Ghost, Kristianna Red Bear, Taylin Rough Surface, Lexi Red Bear, Carlie Red Bear, Kipo-Carl Red Bear III, Kewyn, Kyrie, Sophia, Emi, Bella Serenity, Sincere, Thomia and Tatum Red Bear

She is preceded in death by her father, Eugene Leaf Sr., brother, Eugene "Billy" Leaf Jr., paternal grandparents, Emily Leaf and Ambrose Running Hawk, maternal grandparents, James Crow Ghost, and Adelia White Paw, grandson, Wachapi Ska Eagle Pipe, aunts, Carolyn Crow Ghost, Francine Crow Ghost, Iyonne Bear Ribs, Rosemary Crow Ghost, Koty Crow Ghost, and Helen Alkire, her nieces, nephews and cousins, Joe Crow Ghost Sr., Richard Bear Ribs, Sweetie Bear Ribs, Nevada White Paw, Travis Crow Ghost, Donavon Crow Ghost, Carla Bagola, Dionne Brownotter, Torry Rosebud, Vonnie Yellow Earrings, Shaine White Paw, Misty Running Hawk, Maria Running Hawk.
