Our beloved, Tanner Thomas Gray was born on January 16, 2000 in Eagle Butte, South Dakota to Steve Gray & Rhonda Rousseau. At the time of his passing, he was a 7th grade student at the CEB Junior High. Tanner's greatest joy was playing for the CEB football team and participating in Little Britches Rodeo's. He had great pride in his Lakota heritage, staying up late nights, singing and drumming with The Virgin Creek Drum Group. He also belonged to the CEB Junior High Drum Group. Tanner was also accomplished in shooting guns. He split 2nd and 3rd place with his brother at the 2010 4H BB Gun shooter Championship of South Dakota. Tanner has passion and gives his all while participating in sports such as: football, basketball, baseball, swimming and bull riding.
Tanner will be forever remembered for having the biggest and kindest heart, always having a beautiful smile on his face, and his love for his family. Tanner is respectful, fearless, and has a great sense of humor (he is a sniper). Tanner could also argue a person to the point of their surrender.
Tanner has a deep passion for horses and rodeos. He loves all animals, especially his dogs. He loves riding his horse JJ. Tanner is a top hand on the ranch and is grandpa's little partner. Grandpa, Tanner and JJ could work together like no other. Tanner has a connection with JJ and is the only one who could saddle him up and ride off with out having to top him off.
Tanner loves food and candy as he has his special hiding spots just like his Uncle John He also enjoys doing skits with brothers, sisters and cousins. He is a charmer and ladies man. Tanner is a big fan of the Kansas City Royals and Pittsburgh Steelers and could name all the players. He and his brother Teigan were so excited when they met baseball player, Pete Rose in Las Vegas, N.V. It was one of the highlights of their trip.
Tanner is friendly to everyone & just an all-around good-hearted little cowboy.
