Memorial Mass for Tamara Jo LaFramboise age 46 of Yankton, SD., will be 12:00 PM Saturday, March 30, 2019 at the St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fort Yates, ND. Inurnment will be in the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge, SD.

Tamara Jo (Tammy) LaFramboise was born December 7, 1972 in Mobridge, SD. Her baptismal sponsors were Colleen Teske and Russ Putnam. Tammy and her mother, M. Alsace LaFramboise, moved to Albuquerque, NM when she was 1 month old, where her mother continued her post-secondary education. Tammy and her mother returned to the Standing Rock Sioux Reservation while she was still a pre-schooler and began her elementary education at Standing Rock. She received the sacrament of First Communion at St. Peter's Catholic Church.

The LaFramboise's moved to Aberdeen, SD where Tammy continued her education; first at Roncalli Catholic School then transferring to Aberdeen Public School. While in Aberdeen, she received the sacrament of Confirmation with Claudette Moran serving as her sponsor. Her senior year, Tammy transferred to Washburn High in Washburn, WI, where she graduated from high school.

Tammy attended college at the University of Minnesota as a Freshmen before moving to California. In California, she held various jobs while contemplating her educational path. When she decided she was ready to return to college, she attended American River College in Sacramento, eventually transferring to the University of California at Davis to pursue a degree in Environmental Biology. She graduated in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Both of her children were born while Tammy was attending college. While her schedule was hectic as a mother and college student, she managed to train for marathons, eventually running 7 marathons also qualifying for the Boston Marathon. She also taught boot camp at a local athletic club. She served as vice president of her son's football league. Most recently she was able to spend time with her daughter Sydney and share some of her culinary tips and exchanged beauty secrets.

She began her professional career at the U. S. Bureau of Reclamation in Sacramento, California. Although she enjoyed working as a National Environmental Policy Analyst, she was often conflicted with trade-offs that were made due to competing stakeholders' interests.

Her life's journey took her and the kids back to Albuquerque where she joined her mother. While in Albuquerque, she was employed as a waitress, apprentice electrician, customer service rep and laborer. In the summer of 2016, Tammy decided to visit a friend in Yankton. She ended up staying in Yankton and working at various businesses, making many new friends, and finally getting to do something that was on her bucket list: buying a Harley Davidson motorcycle. She loved the open road on her motorcycle (she thought she was a biker chick). At the time of her death, she was employed by Wilson Trailer.

Tammy never met a stranger. Everybody was her friend, and she was always quick to forgive when wronged. She always took up for the underdog, which sometimes drove her mother crazy. In spite of her demons and struggles, she had some awesome traits: intelligence, optimism, loyalty, fairness, honesty, charisma, love of her family and her furry friends.

She is survived by her mother, M. Alsace; her Sedillo children – Ronald Joaquin and Sydney Alsace; her children's father, Ronald R. Sedillo; her grandmother, Rita Claymore Luepke; her great-aunt and great-uncle, Victoria and Clint Putnam; hunka sister – Rhonda Swan; God-child – Samantha Teske; aunts Barbara (John) D'Agostino and daughter Alesha; Paula and son Brandon; and Kristi (Warren Smith) and sons Tyler and P.J.; her uncles, Robert Goudreau (Debbie) and children Anthony, Rebecca and Heather, Terry Montry and son Ben; Stephen Montry and daughter Brittany; and Kevin Montry and daughter Eva; numerous aunts, uncle, and cousins on the LaFramboise side of the family; numerous cousins including the Putnams, Claymores, Brooks, Watters, DuBrays and Bearkings.

She was preceded in death by her father, grandfather, great-grandparents and numerous other relatives.
