Funeral services for Talyn Rayn Carry Moccasin, 25 of McLaughlin, SD will be held on Friday, August 16, 2024, at 11:00 am at Good News Assembly of God Church in McLaughlin. Interment will take place in the McLaughlin City Cemetery. Talyn died on Sunday, August 11, 2024. Arrangement have been entrusted to Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.

Talyn Rayn Carry Moccasin was born to Trina Fischer and Dana Carry Moccasin on June 15, 1999, in Bismarck, ND. She graduated from McLaughlin High School in May of 2017 as Valedictorian of her class. She played basketball and volleyball from middle school to high school. But, her true passion of sports was playing softball in the summer, following her dad's footsteps. She loved her softball family and made many friends throughout her life due to her energetic and loving nature. On December 27, 2019, Talyn would become a mother to her daughter Alayla Ryan who sadly was born and died the same day. This was a hard time for Talyn, but she overcame the sadness and on April 26, 2021, she was gifted the life of her son, Kylen Louis. She loved her son very deeply. Throughout her short adult years, she worked as a paraprofessional for both the McLaughlin School District and most recently at Sitting Bull School. In addition, she would coach middle school girls' basketball, volleyball and track as her love for sports was abundant. When she wasn't playing sports, she was watching them. Her favorite teams being Duke and the Vikings. She enjoyed spending time with family, hanging out with friends, playing softball, being at the river, being outside in the sun, fishing and just about anything that involved getting a tan. 😊 Talyn was a kind, loving, caring, and respectful young woman who will be missed dearly by all who got to share in her life.

She leaves behind her son Kylen Louis Martin, her mother Trina Fischer, her father Dana Carry Moccasin, her brothers Jacoby Carry Moccasin, Jadyn Carry Moccasin and Grant Martin Jr.,her aunts Tommi Hauck, Connie Renee Martin, Doreen (Verle) Red Tomahawk and Hazel White Bear, her uncles Robert Martel Jr. and Randy White along with numerous relatives.

She was preceded in death by her daughter Alayla Ryan Carry Moccasin, grandmas Bonnie (Tiger) Fischer and Mae White, grandpas Jerry Fischer, Jerome Carry Moccasin, Vincent Carry Moccasin, Sr., aunts Terryl (Fischer) Mittleider, Colette Carry Moccasin and Adele White, uncles Mark Carry Moccasin, Dorven White Bear and Vincent Carry Moccasin, Jr., cousins Talicia Martin and Lane Carry Moccasin and many other relatives.
