Susan Mary Martin Fisher was born on August 13th, 1938 to Margaret Martin Walking Elk. She was raised by her grandparents Frank and Mary Martin in Kenel, SD. She attended a boarding school in Marty, SD and high school in McLaughlin, SD. She married Waldemar Stugelmeyer and from this union four daughters were born: Marlene, Mary Lou, Karen, and Kelly.
She spent 13 years raising her daughters in McLaughlin. In 1969, she met Charles Fisher. They were wed and moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota. She and Charles enjoyed traveling, playing cards, boating, fishing and raising several pets, including their dogs Missy and Mitch. After losing Charles in 1999, Susan lived on the Traxinger Ranch South of McLaughlin near her daughter Marlene until 2005 when she moved to Mobridge, SD. She treasured her time visiting relatives and friends. She and her cat, Miss Kitty, loved to cook for anyone who stopped by to see her. Susan had a soft spot for her pets; she was often teased that she would one day be working as a caretaker at "Rainbow Bridge" in Heaven for all the animals. On the morning of Monday, February 27, 2012, Susan started her new job…
