GRAVESIDE SERVICES FOR STUART MURDOCK will be at 1 PM, MT,  Friday, July, 17, 2020, at the Timber Lake Cemetery.

Stuart Murdock, age 84 of Mobridge passed away Sunday, March 15, 2020 at Bethesda Nursing Home in Aberdeen.

Stuart Clinton Murdock passed away in his sleep on March 15, 2020 at the Bethesda Home of Aberdeen. Stuart was born in Timber Lake, South Dakota in 1935 to Horace Clinton Murdock and Esther Mary (Parker) Murdock. He was baptized at the Timber Lake Methodist Church, became a member of the church, and attended services whenever possible with his Mother.

Stuart's father H.C. died in 1940 of ALS. Stuart spent his years living with his mother in Timber Lake and spent many months at various times over the years at the Crippled Children's Hospital in Hot Springs South Dakota, where he underwent repeated surgeries. When Stuart's mother entered the Mobridge Care Center, Stuart shortly followed her there, becoming a resident on October 1, 1978.

The Mobridge Care Center was Stuart's home until shortly before its closing, when he relocated to the Bethesda Home in Aberdeen, to be near his sister Lola Dixon, who resides on her farmstead near Aberdeen.

During his many years at the Mobridge Care Center, Stuart made many dear friends among the residents and staff. He participated in the activities and outings held by the Center, and particularly enjoyed crafts and jigsaw puzzles. The staff welcomed Stuart's help in regular tasks such as loading the movies in the video tape player, putting up the daily menu on the bulletin board, and taking up the offering at the Sunday church services. Stuart was often busy snapping photos and enjoyed his large collection of snapshots.

Stuart is survived by his sisters, Lola Dixon of Aberdeen, South Dakota and Leona Schuler of Tucson, Arizona, and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Stuart was preceded in death by his parents Horace and Esther Murdock, his sister Margaret Murdock and his niece Peg Duncan.

Services for Stuart will be announced at a later date. Burial will be in the Timber Lake Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home.

Stuart's family wishes to thank his extended family, the loving staffs of the Mobridge Care Center and the Bethesda Home of Aberdeen, who helped make his life both fulfilling and joyful.
