Stacey Lynn Alkire began her journey to the spirit world on April 28, 2017 at her home out in the country. Stacey Lynn was born June 22, 1964 in Fort Yates, North Dakota to mother, Helen Cordella (Crow Ghost) Alkire and father, Basil James Alkire. Her grand-parents are Samual and Winifred Crow Ghost (Rock Creek) and James and Louise Alkire (Kenel). She is the great, great grand-daughter of Chief Rain-In-The-Face. Stacey attended elementary and high school at Fort Yates. She graduated in 1983. While in elementary and junior high school she enjoyed fancy shawl dancing, riding bike, track and learning to ride horse. Horses became her passion. While growing up Stacey attended the First Baptist Church of Fort Yates where she was baptized and loved vacation bible school, summer camps and Sunday school. In High School Stacey went to Upward Bound and gained a strong interest in art and photography. She always had great taste and an eye for color. Upon graduation Stacey attended Sitting Bull College and worked for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe in different capacities mainly maintenance and administrative assistant. She also worked for Prairie Knights Casino as a server. She loved both jobs because it allowed her to meet all kinds of people. Both jobs fit her outgoing personality. Stacey always knew her passion was to work with troubled youth and addictions, so she completed her certificate at Sitting Bull College for fundamentals of EAGALA; which is the training in safety and therapy in the use of horses to assist in mental health treatment and human development.
