Obituary

Funeral services for Sidney Carl Claymore age 59 of Fort Yates, ND will be Monday June 24, 2013 at 10:00 AM at St. Peters Catholic Church in Fort Yates. Burial will be in the Claymore Cemetery (Rural Fort Yates) under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. An all night wake will begin Sunday at 7PM at the AJ Agard Building. Sidney passed away, Thursday June 20, 2013 at Sanford Medical Center in Bismarck, ND.
Sidney Carl Claymore was born October 9, 1953 at Fort Yates, ND to Sidney and Doris (LeCompte) Claymore.
He graduated from Shanley High School in Fargo in 1971. He attended Southwestern Indian Polytechnic Institute and also went on to graduate from the University of Calgary, Calgary, Alberta, Canada graduating in 1991 with his Bachelors Degree in Social work.
Sidney worked with the Sitting Bull College for 4 years as Voc. Rehab Counselor for North Dakota and South Dakota. He worked for the IHS for 15 plus years as a Mental Health Counselor. He was a great supporter of Suicide Prevention, time was dedicated to the youth.
He enjoyed his tobacco products, hunting, fishing, mud runs, pow wows, cookouts, family, cruising his scooter around the streets of Bismarck, classic cars, traveling, attending biker parties, hitchhiking, cowboy way of life, rodeos, PBR events, was known to imbibe in an occasional beverage at social activities, and also loved his women! He enjoyed watching movies, Syfy Channel, and gambling. His dream was to travel to Bora Bora with his Mom and Charlie. Sidney appreciated his native culture and art. He was a sun dancer and sun danced for 20 plus years when in Pine Ridge, SD. His family was very proud of him for his accomplishments through his trials and tribulations through his disabled years. He also loved and was very proud of his two grandsons: Justin Wade Yellow Fat Jr., and Jace William Yellow Fat. He accomplished more than most able-bodied people did in his lifetime. He had a heart of gold and was always willing to help others.
He will be dearly missed by family, Missouri Slope Care Center, and his many friends.
Sidney is survived by his mother Doris Soiseth, father Charlie Soiseth, son Justin Yellow Fat Sr., daughter Anutika Bear Ghost, and brothers Delano Claymore, Kenneth Claymore and Scott Jacobson.
He was preceded in death by father Sidney C. Claymore, Sr. sister Linda Lou DuBray, brothers Richard Lee Claymore, Brent James Claymore, and son Carl D. Claymore.
