Shawn passed away September 8, 2016 in Mound City, SD.

Shawn Lacey Hepper was born August 29, 1981 in Bismarck, ND to Harold and Darlys (Fritz) Hepper. As a child he grew up on a ranch with his two siblings Cheryl and Bryce Hepper near Selfridge, ND. Shawn liked to be outside and had a special love for horses. He moved to Lemmon, SD in 1991, where he attended high school. He was a competitive basketball and football player, spending hours every day striving to be the best. Shawn met his first wife while living in Lemmon, and was later married in September 2001, to Michelle Erhart. They had three children – Tayla, Sawyer, and Logan. Shawn and his family moved to Belle Fourche in 2000, where he worked as a supervisor for Merle's Landscaping. Shawn moved back to Lemmon in 2010, and worked for his dear friends Leon and Levi Paulson building pole barns. Shawn then moved to Java, SD in 2011, where he worked at PIC and met his current wife Kelly (Fischer) Hepper. Shawn had two more boys, Shawn "Shawnie" and "Baby" Shane. Shawn and his family moved to Mobridge, SD in 2013, where they made their permanent home.
Shawn was a hardworking man that would never miss a chance to help friends and family. He loved spending his spare time throwing darts and fishing on the Missouri. Shawn also enjoyed cage fighting and will never be forgotten for his one hit knockouts. Shawn was probably most known for his bad jokes that he always managed with a straight face. His humor never failed to make friends and family laugh and smile, or shake your head and roll your eyes, convincing people of the most ridiculous stories. Anyone that knew Shawn would see his face light up with love and joy when he was with his children. He will always be remembered as a big kid at heart often being scolded to settle down with the rest of the children.
Beloved husband and father, son and brother, you were loved by so many. You will never be truly forgotten, for we will always carry a part of you in our hearts. The grief is unbearable at the moment, but I know we'll meet again.
