Mass of Christian Burial for Shawn White Bull, 42, of McLaughlin will be at 11:30 AM Saturday, March 4, 2023 at the Kenel Catholic Church with Fr. Jim Hoerter officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. An all night wake will start at 6 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM Friday at Redeemer Lutheran Church in McLaughlin. Shawn passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023 at his home in McLaughlin.

Shawn Michael White Bull was born in Vermillion, South Dakota on January 1, 1981 to Mari Jane White Bull and Leo McCauley. Shawn grew up in McLaughlin where he loved to fish, golf, play basketball and listen to music in his spare time. Shawn graduated from Lower Brule High School and enlisted in the Army shortly after graduation.  He was very smart, loved to work on electronics and was also very helpful in the community of Bear Soldier where he always helped where help was needed.  Shawn was a single parent to the joy of his life, his son, Ryan.  Shawn loved to joke around and laugh with family and friends.  After his discharge from the Army, Shawn did maintenance for the Bear Soldier District and was a member of the Legion Post 239.

Shawn will be greatly missed by all who loved him. Shawn was survived by his son, Ryan White Bull, father Leo McCauley, his brothers, Kyle and Von White Bull and numerous nieces and nephews.

Shawn was preceded in death by his mother Mari Jane White Bull, grandpa Jake White Bull and nephew Von White Bull, Jr.
