Funeral services for Sharon Ducheneaux, age 78, of Mobridge will be 10:30 am Friday November 1, 2013 at Kesling Funeral Home. Burial will be in the St. Catherine's Catholic Cemetery Promise under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the funeral home. Sharon passed away Monday, Oct. 28, 2013 at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.
Sharon Lee Bollinger was born March 13, 1935 at Mobridge to Gottlieb Lee and Nina (Fiedler) Bollinger. Sharon worked at Perron's laundry and the Silver Grill all in Mobridge. Sharon later moved to LaPuente, CA where she attended LaPuente High School graduating in 1955. She worked at the Basque Restaurant as a waitress.
After graduation she went to L.A. and worked at the Broadway Dept. Store doing women's clothing. She was so good they wanted her to be a buyer. All this time she was writing to Jim Ducheneaux. When he got out of the service she moved back to Mobridge and they got married on Dec. 1, 1956. They ranched near Promise, from there they ranched for Oscar Molstad until they bought the Freddie LeBeau place where they lived until moving to Mobridge. Sharon and Jimmy did carpentry work for Clint and Vicky Putnam many years.
She loved spending time with her grandkids, friends and family. She loved gardening, playing cards, fishing, camping and being outside working in the yard.
Sharon moved to Golden Living Center in Nov. 2011 where she resided for the remainder of her life.
Sharon is survived by three daughters Shirley Stayton of Florence, DeAnna Ducheneaux, Mobridge, Nina Hanson of Valentine, NE, son Ronnie Ducheneaux, of Mobridge, grandchildren; Jessica Elsinger (Josh) Watertown, SD, Josh Stayton (Stacy) Brady, Texas, Shantel Ducheneaux, Cheyenne Ducheneaux (Travis), Bodey Ducheneaux, Heather Caplin all of Mobridge, Alex Hanson, Kerian Hanson, Michael Hanson all of Valentine, NE, great-grandchildren, Baylee Elsinger of Watertown, Fallon Stayton of Brady, Texas, Mattey Caplin and Mathius Caplin both of Mobridge, two sisters, Shirley Carter of Knoxville, AR., Buni Snyder, Arkansas City, KS, brother Mike Bollinger of Rapid City, step-brother; Monte Green.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Nina Fiedler Bollinger Green, father, Lee Bollinger, step-father, Cal Green, husband, Jim Ducheneaux, 2 brothers; Gene Bollinger, Carson Bollinger,, grandson, Douglas James Stayton.
