Obituary

Mass of Christian Burial for Severina Kraft, 90 of Trail City will be 10:00 AM Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church Trail City. Interment at Black Hills National Cemetery 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 15, 2016 under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be Monday, June 13, 2016 at 4:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM at the church. Severina passed away Friday, June 10, 2016 at Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Severina Clara (Keller) Kraft, a longtime Trail City area resident, was well liked and loved b many people.

Her personality, characteristic traits, and caring heart made he a unique woman.

She was born on December 9, 1925 in Hague, ND to Martin and Catherine (Buechler) Keller. As a young girl, she moved with her family to a farm one-mile north of Trail City. Severina attended Hoffert Country School and graduated from the 8th grade in 1941.

On November 25, 1947, she married Frank S. Kraft in Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Trail City. The couple settled on a farm seven miles north of Trail City. For 40 years they had dairy cattle, then continued to farm and run range cattle.

For many years, she was a member of Holy Rosary Church, Holy Rosary Altar Society and VFW Auxiliary. The majority of Severina's life was being a dedicated farm wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
Severina died Friday, June 10, 2016 at Mobridge Regional Hospital at the age of 90. She had fought her medical conditions for several months until Our Savior called her home to once again join the love of her life. Severina was surrounded by her family.
She enjoyed gardening, canning, pickling, quilting, embroidering, and making sure her yard was weed and twig free. She truly enjoyed when family would come home to the farm. Her eyes would sparkle and she would have a big smile whenever her children and grandchildren were around her. She also enjoyed going to visit her children in their homes.

Severina is survived by four daughters, Joan and (Leroy) Trautman, Mobridge, Betty and (Jeff) Schmidt, Webster, Donna and (Frank) Seiler. Timber Lake, Sharon and (Jeff) Wenker, Marshall, MN, four sons, David "Shorty" and (Mary) Kraft, Firesteel, Steve "Butch" and (Kathy) Kraft, Mobridge, Tim Kraft and Jamie Bowlby, of Trail City, Larry and (Bonnie) Kraft of Thief River Falls, MN. Also surviving are a brother, Alfred Keller of Rapid City, and a sister Mary Thares; two sisters-in-law's, Frances Holzer of Mobridge and Mary Ann Dillman of Walker, 16 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren, 25 step grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and two brothers.
