Funeral services for Sarah L. Martin, age 28, of Mobridge will be at 11 AM MT Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011 at Tiospaya Topa School Gym in LaPlant. Burial will be in the St. Paul's Episcopal Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home. Visitation will be one hour before services. Sarah entered the spirit world on Sunday, November 13, 2011 at Avera McKennan Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.
Sarah Lynn Martin was born January 18th, 1983 in Aberdeen to Emmett and Donna (Gilbert) Martin. She lived in Aberdeen, moved to Pierre in 1985. She moved to Lower Brule in 1987 and lived in Ft. Thompson in 1997. Sarah also lived on the Gilbert Ranch with her Grandmother Marguerite Gilbert for a couple years before moving to LaPlant, SD. Sarah graduated from Tiospaya Topa School in 2001. In 2003, she moved to Mobridge, SD where she has since resided.
Sarah enjoyed school and her favorite teacher was Mrs. Rebekka "Eeyore" Smith. Sarah enjoyed writing, drawing, visiting with family and playing with her niece Jordan and nephew Chase. Sarah also loved to watch the Harry Potter Movies, Superman, Walker Texas Ranger, and was a fan of Hannah Montana. She also enjoyed listening to music. Sarah was kind, caring, and a loving person who also loved Winnie the Pooh.
Sarah "Roo" Martin is survived by her father, Emmett M. Martin Jr. sister, Kelly J. Martin, brother, Lucas J. Martin, niece Jordan M. Martin nephew Chase M. Martin, all of Mobridge, Aunts, Margaret (Homer) Cutt of Pierre, SD, Marcella (Talbert) Cutt and Debbie Martin, both of Aberdeen, SD, Martha Martin of Wanbli, SD, Alona Martin of Sioux Falls, SD, Eva Mesteth of Eagle Butte, SD, and Marcella Gilbert. Uncles, Larry Mesteth of Eagle Butte, SD, Jimmy Gilbert of Eagle Butte, SD and Kenneth (Lenora) White Eagle, of Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Donna J. (Gilbert) Martin, brothers, Anthony "Bunky" Red Bird, Gibson Garrett, Jason Jay Martin, and Matthew Jordan Martin, , grandparents, Emmett M. Martin, Sr., Myrtle Martin, and Marcella Gilbert, grandmothers, Marguerite Gilbert and Thelma Brown, Uncle Vincent "Butch" Charles.
