Funeral services for Sandra Mitzel, 65, of Herried, SD, will be at 2 PM, Tuesday, October 17, 2023, at the Kesling Funeral Home in Mobridge. A luncheon and fellowship will follow the service at The Edge Event Center in Mobridge. Sandra passed away October 4, 2023, at Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Sandra L Mitzel was born February 13th. 1958 to Doris (Zerbel) and Virgil Lynn Miller Sr., in Aberdeen, SD, she also attended grade school and high school there, finally earning her GED.

Sandra married Vern Foster in 1974 and from this union her daughter Stacy was born. In 1985 she married Bruce Mitzel and to that union her son Michael was born. She is survived by both ex-husbands. Sandra worked as an armed security guard for a bank and at an airport in Missouri and attended modeling school in Kansas City, Missouri, but was mostly a homemaker all her life. Living most of her adult life in the Herreid – Mobridge, SD area. She loved fishing, reading and crafting. She loved animals and could never let a stray go without trying to rescue it and make the animals life better.

She is survived by daughter Stacy (Foster) Wise and her husband Jack Wise of Kansas City, Missouri and son Michael Mitzel of Sioux Falls, SD. Sisters Lil (Dan) Holm, Nevis MN, Sharon (Tim) Rueb, Belgarde, MT, Toni Shillingstad, Mobridge, SD, Terry Miller, Aberdeen, SD. 4 grandchildren, Thomas, Jason, Seara and Dalton and 6 great grandchildren many cousins and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Virgil and Doris Miller, brother's Willis, Virgil Jr., Jerry, Danny, Richard, and sister Linda.
