IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Samuel
Gayton
April 10, 1981 – December 18, 2024
Samuel Gayton, 43, of Ft. Yates passed away Wednesday, December 18, 2024, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo. Arrangements are pending with Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge.
Samuel Jayson Gayton, 43, left the physical world on December 18, 2024. The same day his Grandma Arlene passed ten years ago. She seen he was suffering in the health condition he was in. He was born on April 10,1981 to Patty Gayton and Dwayne Eagle. Sam spent the first years of his life between Fort Yates and Bismarck, later living in Fort Yates permanently. He is survived by his five children Maurice, Hannah, Kendrick, Ezekiel and Jedrick, two brothers Patrick (Lauren) Chasing Hawk and Matthew Chasing Hawk, his mom, Patty Gayton. Sam's bond with all of us is that he gave us all nicknames, if he called you by a nickname, you truly meant something to him. He loved all his friends, his brothers, sisters, aunties, uncles, cousins, in this community. He hit a few speed bumps in life as we all do, but he liked his life with all his friends. He lived the way he wanted. He will truly be missed by all of us. Since it was a cremation ceremony, there are no pallbearers. All of his friends (you know who u are) will be held in the highest honor as Honorary Pallbearers. Thank you for being his friend. Sam was preceded in death by his Grampa/dad Ronald Gayton and Gramma/mom Arlene Gayton Aunt Annie Gayton, and cousin, Teddy Eagle."
Sam was a funny person always did what he can do to make us laugh, I lived with him at the house before him going to live his auntie Terri, he always was doing the dumbest things like " hey you dropped your pocket" and I would really look too. He meant a lot to me even before he first got his left side paralyzed I didn't mind helping him, when I was around him he was always so kind to his friends, he was loved by all, and will be missed by all, but at least he don't got to cry anymore, or be in pain or anything, he was a close cousin to mine and I love him so much my last words to him I really meant all of it, I know it's hard to say bye to a person you've known all your life but it's life ,another thing he always told me to do was stay in school ,I already had plans to do so but when it came from him ,I knew he really cared, he only ever said things like that to people he really cared about ,his mom was his best friend and always called her Mamacita , he meant a lot to her and always will. May he rest easy and know that so many of us will miss him but it's life.
