Visitation will be Friday, February 15, 2013 from 5:00-7:00 PM at St. John Lutheran Church, Selby, SD with a prayer service at 7PM. Burial will be in the Selby Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Mrs. Stiegelmeier passed away February 10th, 2013 at the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center in Bismarck.

Rosina was born January 16, 1927 near Java, SD to Fred and Rosina Bauman. She graduated from Java High School in 1944, after which she attended college in Aberdeen to obtain a teaching certificate. Rosina returned to teach for three years at Alamo Country School. She married Wilmer Stiegelmeier on Oct. 5th, 1947. They operated a farm and ranch southwest of Selby, SD for 43 years, and raised four children.

Rosina loved music. She sang in the Bauman family singers from an early age. She was active in the community and at St. John Lutheran Church. She was a state and local ALCW officer, leader of the Happy Hustlers 4-H club, and was a 48-year charter member of the Handy Homemakers Extension Club. She was also a member of the area Christian Women's Club, both attending and hosting their Bible Studies. As part of her German heritage she served as Secretary-treasurer of Die Deutsche Freiheit Chapter of the Germans from Russia Heritage Society, and was a frequent soloist for community events. Rosina enjoyed being a part of these organizations as a way of serving her community and church. She touched many lives and made many lasting friendships through the years of her involvement.

Friendships were also made as Rosina and Wilmer traveled in the United States and abroad. Rosina helped plan many extension trips to mid-western states. Rosina and Wilmer were always ready to travel to their children and grandchildren's events to offer encouragement and share in their accomplishments. They looked forward to this very much. She was always willing to provide food for the many family and extended family gatherings.

In 1996 they moved from their farm to a home in Selby, and in 2007 to Bismarck, ND. Rosina was a resident of the Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center at her passing February 10th, 2013. She was a lovely person and will be dearly missed.

Rosina is survived by four children: Diana (Paul) Moxness of Waubay SD; Dawn (Jim) Anderson of St. Paul, MN; Mark (Becky Goehring) Stiegelmeier of Selby, SD; and Paul (Marie Perman) Stiegelmeier of Bismarck, ND, 13 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and two brothers and one sister: Clarence Bauman of Bismarck, ND, Harold Bauman of Salt Lake City, UT, and Hilda Schaefer of Lodi, CA.
