Obituary

Funeral services for Ronald Sevrens, age 69, of Mobridge will be at 10:30 AM, Monday July 15, 2013 at the First Baptist Church in Mobridge. Burial will be at Selby Memorial Gardens under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will start at 5 PM Sunday with a prayer service at 7 PM at the funeral home. Ron passed away Thursday, July 11, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Mobridge.

Ronald E. Sevrens was born on August 9, 1943 in Selby to Earl "Bud" and Winifred (Fansler) Sevrens. He attended Wilson and Hardings Country School through the eight grade and graduated from Glenham High School in 1961. He went to Donnybrook, ND several times with Albert Kaufman Combining. When the harvest was done he would haul a combine to Kansas then come home and get some work done and then head to Kansas and combine sorghum. Some of his favorite jobs were running a combine and cutting and baling hay. When Ron's dad suffered a heart attack Ron took over the farm and ranch. After the death of his father in 1970 Ron and his mom continued to run the farm. Ron retired in 2007.

Ron collected zippo lighters, straight edge razors and old coins. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mobridge. He was also a member of the Moose Lodge since 1974 and a member of the Harvest State Elevator, the Central Farmers Elevator and a past member of the Akaska and Glenham Equity. He was a charter member of the Eagles. He served on the Glenham School Reunion Committee as the treasurer.

Ron is survived by his aunt, Virginia Tucker of Selby, nephew, Doug Anderson, nieces, Deb Chilstrom and Deleane Thumster, and brother-in-law, Larry Anderson of Mobridge and numerous cousins.

He is preceded in death by his parents, an older brother in infancy and sister, Beverly Anderson.

Memorials may be directed towards the First Baptist Church or the Glenham Fire Department.
