Ronald passed away Thursday, June 16, 2011 at Med Center One in Bismarck, ND.
Ronald David Long Feather, Sr., was born on April 19, 1975 in Bismarck, ND to Thomas, Sr., and Edith (Dog Eagle) Long Feather. He was baptized and confirmed at the God Shepherd Episcopal Church in Little Eagle. He grew up in the Little Oak Creek area, 10 miles southwest of Little Eagle; in 1979 the whole family moved to McLaughlin where he lived the remainder of his life at his mother's home.
Ron attended elementary and high school at the McLaughlin Public School. While in the fifth grade, Ron played the saxophone and continued to his 7th grade year. During his elementary years, Ron enjoyed playing baseball and participated in T-ball and Teener Leagues in McLaughlin. While still in the fifth grade he won the Punt, Pass & Kick (PPK) here at the McLaughlin School and went on to state in Mitchell, SD ~ he won a trophy and a blue hooded sweatshirt, which he was very proud of and eventually wore it out wearing it day after day.
In 2000, Ron was united in marriage with Michelle Chasing Hawk to this marriage one son was born, Ron Jr., aka "Nupa". He loved his only son with all his heart and loved to be at his son's beck and call; anything Nupa wanted whether day or night ~ Ron would be at his service.
Ron worked at Prairie Knights Casino as a porter, on and off for the past 10 years. He also worked at Cloverdale in Mandan, ND, a job that he enjoyed. One job that he truly loved and never complained about was up keeping his mother's home and cooking all her meals. In December 2010, Ron was united in marriage to Clarice Red Stone in McIntosh, SD; they made their home in McLaughlin at his mother's residence.
Ron enjoyed playing softball and horseshoes, hunting, fishing and having cookouts. He had a great sense of humor; and loved teasing his family and friends. He also took great pleasure in babysitting his nieces, nephews and two grandsons. Ron also loved to cook, he especially enjoyed making his "hot" chili and burritos for the family; we all needed a huge cup of water or kool-aid to tame the flames from his concoctions. He also liked to experiment with baking, anything from his pizzas, to homemade pies, yeast bread and fry bread; he even made delicious beef stew and indian tacos (every other week). One thing we could always count on was that he always made enough for the entire family. All of his cooking and baking we'll miss as a family not to mention missing our son and our baby brother. We love you son and baby brother, you will forever be in our hearts. Our memories of you will never fade.
Ron is survived by his wife, Clarice; one son, Ron Jr., his Mother Edith, Brother Tom Jr., Sisters Ann (Verdell) Bobtail Bear, Cheryl Long Feather (Jan Little Bear), Melinda (Bill) Mutchler and Lila (Roman) Silk; nephews Saul Bobtail Bear, Sam & Mason Long Feather; nieces Thomasine, Marietta & Gertie Long Feather, Kelsey & Ashley Mutchler, Sierra Bobtail Bear, Laura, Romaira & Romani Silk and his grandsons Taylon Long Feather and Dorian Brown and many other nephews, nieces and cousins.
