Funeral services for Rodney Lemburg, 64, Selby, SD will be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 3:00 pm at the Selby United Methodist Church in Selby with Pastor Darla Hadrick, officiating. Visitation will begin at 6:00 pm at the church with a 7:00 pm Prayer Service at the church on Friday, August 6, 2021. Interment will take place at a later date.

Rodney Dale Lemburg, son of Dale and Marge (Krein) Lemburg was born at the Hoven Hospital December 15, 1956.  He attended Selby School and graduated in 1977.  After graduation he attended 1 semester at the University of Springfield, Springfield SD.  He joined the National Guard as a heavy equipment mechanic in December of 1980 and was honorably discharged in December of 1995.  He spent some time in Germany as part of the National Guard. During that time he also worked for Leo Allmendinger Farms as a farm hand, R & D Enterprises, Quinn SD, as a mechanic/repairman and Kent Mauck with East River Lumber and Grain as a truck driver.  He worked for Pharis Farms, Inc.  from 2005 to 2019 as a farm/ranch hand.  His last job and favorite job was for the Selby Elevator moving the trains as they loaded grain. He owned his own truck for a time and traveled from coast to coast.  During the last several years he spent his free time mowing using mowers that he repaired himself.

Rodney loved fishing, horseback riding, drawing in pencil, painting, and fixing mowers.  Up until the last few years, he spent many hours fishing.   He was a member of the Selby United Methodist Church.

Rodney is survived by his 2 daughers, Alexia (Jason) Ziegler, Rapid City, Misty Lemburg of Sioux Falls; one son, Zachary Lemburg of Pierre; his eight grandchildren; JC, Blake, Braxton, Caleb, Kaden, Carissa of Rapid City, Mireille Jane, and Mauri'Ana Grace of Sioux Falls; his mother Marge Lemburg of Selby; his two brothers, Michael (Penny)of Bison, David (Johnny Rakosky) of Hemet Calif; two sisters, Patti (Larry) Froelich of Mandan, ND, Peggy (Dean) Taylor, Pierre, and many nieces and nephews.

Rodney is preceded in death by his father Dale R Lemburg January 30, 2006.
