Public is sincerely invited to attend the visitation for Robert Krokel on Sunday, March 13, 2011 from 2:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Kesling Funeral Home. A private family funeral services for Robert Krokel, age 70, of Mound City will be Monday at Kesling Funeral Home. Burial will be Monday in the Mound City Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Robert passed away Wednesday, March 9, 2011 at his home in Mound City.

Robert was born July 7, 1940 at Pierre, South Dakota to Herman and Eve (Bollinger) Krokel. He attended grade school in Mound City and graduated from Herreid High School in 1958. He began his faming/ranching career on the Krokel Homestead where he remained involved all his life. Robert married Joyce Zandstra on June 12, 1960 in Mobridge.

Robert was a member and director of the Sheep Growers Association, member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Mound City.

Robert greatest joy was his two grandsons, and being able to attend all his grandsons activities. Robert enjoyed the space shuttles, trains, Nascar racing, Viking football, Chevy's, hunting coyotes and gophers.

Robert is survived by his son, Todd Krokel of Mound City, daughter, Bobbie Krokel of Aberdeen, grandsons, Robb Krokel and Nickolas Krokel both of Aberdeen, sister Fae (Ron) Schaffer of Aberdeen, his special friend Joyce Krokel of Aberdeen, many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
