Yellow in 1979 and together, they raised three children, Kyle, Amanda, and Richard Jr. in Fort Yates until their final separation years later. Richard Sr. Loved manual labor. He had worked for Standing Rocks Housing Authority for a time, but eventually went on to work as a Custodian for the Sitting Bull Community College, making his way to a supervisor position before deciding to leave for an opportunity in the House Keeping Dept. at the newly built Prairie Knights Casino, he eventually transferred to the Count Team Dept. of the casino but unfortunately had to resign due to physical health concerns. Upon his employment to the SR Elementary, Richard Sr. Took an interest in Special Education, where he decided to go to school at the Sitting Bull Community College thus achieving a two-year diploma in that field. Among other certificates, Richard Sr. was dedicated to helping children, always seeing that respect and determination was instilled in all the children who he helped. He eventually left Standing Rock for Bismarck where he was then employed at U.T.T.C. 's Early Education Development Center. He also took a second job with Wal-Mart, working for the company for... years. In this time, he had become involved with his special friend and long term civil partner Serena Claymore, where they lived together with her children in Bismarck. Richard Sr. had taken the role of a fatherly advisor to Serenas two oldest boys; Jacob and Joshua Claymore. He also took Serenas youngest and only daughter, Lydia as his adopted daughter in the ways of Native American Tradition. He will be dearly missed by all of his brothers, his sisters including all their extended family, and of course the many people he called his friends or adopted family.
