Funeral services for Rhonda Scharberg, age 57 of Mobridge will be 5:00 pm, Thursday, August 10, 2017 at Kesling Funeral Chapel in Mobridge, visitation will be 1 hour prior to the services. Inurnment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery in Mobridge at 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 17, 2017 under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home. Rhonda passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 at St. Alexus Hospital in Bismarck, ND.

Rhonda (Krein) Scharberg was born on September 12, 1959, in Mobridge, South Dakota to Rollin and JoAnn (Voegele) Krein. Rhonda grew up and attended Mobridge High School, then went on to attend college in Denver, Colorado.

She lived in St. Louis, Missouri for 4 years, where she worked as a secretary for a brokerage firm before moving to Florida. She then moved back to Mobridge in 2000 to be closer to her family. She was employed at the American Legion for several years.

Rhonda enjoyed traveling, camping, and visiting and spending time with her friends.

Rhonda is survived by her mother, JoAnn and (Tom) Houck of Akaska, South Dakota, two brothers, Roger Krein of Aberdeen, South Dakota, Todd Krein of Willow, Alaska, half-brother Kenny Krein, of Ellendale, North Dakota, one half-sister, Loretta Krein of Fargo, North Dakota, two step-sisters, Susan (Gary) Walcher, of Nevada and Mary (Mardy) Knodel, of Onida, South Dakota, one step-brother, Jim (Erna) Houck, of Akaska, South Dakota, nieces and nephews, Jesse (Becky) Krein and Jaida, Travis (Diane) Krein and Clair and Elys, also a close and special friend, Randy Fudge of Mobridge, South Dakota, and her cat "Jazzy".

Rhonda was preceded in death by her father Rollin, one aunt, Jean Imberi, and one uncle, Dennis Voegele.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the New Hope Cancer Foundation, PO Box 422, Mobridge, SD 57601.
