Funeral services for Raymond Davis, 75, of Mobridge, will be held 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 13, 2024, at the United Congregational Church in Mobridge. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Raymond passed away Monday, March 11, 2024, at the Mobridge Regional Hospital.

Raymond Oluf Davis was born May 18, 1948, in Litchfield, Minnesota to Clifford E and Margaret J. (Hendrickson) Davis.

He grew up and attended school in Litchfield. After high school, he joined the Navy in 1968 and was a Seabee until his honorable discharge in 1972.

Ray then attended St. Cloud, Minnesota College. He married Doris Nelson on February 10, 1973, in St. Paul, Minnesota. Ray then began his long career working as a mechanic for Allstate Peterbilt in South St. Paul.

After retiring, he and Doris moved to Mobridge in 2009; where he has since resided.

In his younger years, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle traveling.  Ray enjoyed spending time with his family,
especially his grandchildren.

Ray was an avid fisherman and also enjoyed hunting.

A number of years ago, Ray befriended a rescue dog with three legs named "Taka".

Ray is survived by his wife of 51 years Doris of Mobridge, one son, Martin (Ronda) Davis of Stillwater, Minnesota, one daughter, Heather Davis of Dover, Florida, two sisters, Viola (Davis) Bengtson of Paynesville, Minnesota and Ruth Ann Davis (Daniel) Freeburg of Mobridge. Also surviving are 8 grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Clifford and Margaret J. Davis and one brother, James Davis.
