Funeral services for Rachel Bock, age 82, of Isabel will be at 10 AM MT, Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Church of God in Isabel. Burial will be at Hillview Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be one hour prior to services. Rachel passed away, Saturday, June 23, 2012 at the Golden Living Center in Mobridge.

Rachel Irene Kern was born December 25, 1929 on the family farm north of Isabel, SD to William and Louisa (Radac) Kern. She attended country school
and continued her education up until the 8th grade in McIntosh, SD. Following school, she helped out on the family farm; and even had her own livestock to tend to. On April 19, 1960 Rachel married Albert Bock in Isabel, SD. Out of this marriage she gained 2 sons, David and Delbert and a daughter Lou Ann. They started their married life together in Eagle Butte,SD and proceeded to live there for three years. With Albert being a pastor, they made a number of places their home, including Sioux Falls, SD,Zimmerman, MN, and Hazen, ND. On July 9, 1961 Rachel and Albert were blessed with a daughter Diane Alberta. Rachel and Albert retired on a farm north of Isabel in 1974. There they had a small herd of cattle, raised pigs, geese, ducks and chickens and even put up their own hay crop. They moved to town in 1992 and resided there together until Albert passed away in May of 1995. In November of 2003, Rachel made the Golden Living Center in Mobridge SD, her new home.

She enjoyed gardening and canning the fruits of her labor, taking care of her plants and flowers, sewing, and horseback riding. Rachel loved her animals and shared this love with her family. She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends and teaching her grandchildren about life on the farm. Rachel loved the Lord and was a member of The Church of God in Isabel, SD where she helped out with luncheons, conventions and in any capacity a pastor's wife is called upon to do.

Rachel is survived by two daughters, Diane (Eugene) Geigle of McIntosh, SD and Lou Ann (Kedrick) Johnson of Zimmerman, MN, one son Delbert (Shirley)Bock of Isabel, SD, daughter-in-law, Esther Bock of Zimmerman, MN,grandchildren Ethan Geigle, Raelyn Geigle, Scot Johnson, Todd Johnson,Keddie Ann Parsons, Brian Bock, Kendal Bock, Teresa Bock, Randy Bock,Kevin Bock, Rebecca Shaw, nine great grandchildren, two sisters Lucy Klingman of Trail City, SD and Gladys Douglas of Isabel, SD and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents William and Louisa Kern, husband Albert, son David, two brothers and eight sisters.
