Funeral services for Pete Longbrake age 55 of Eagle Butte, will be at 1 PM, Tuesday, December 31, 2019, at the St. John's Episcopal Church in Eagle Butte. Burial will be at Eagle Butte Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Family and friends will meet at the 4-mile junction at 2 PM, Monday to process to the church for an all night wake with services at 7 PM. Pete passed away Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the IHS Eagle Butte.
Pete Allen Longbrake entered the spirit world December 21, 2019, at the age of 55, alongside his children in the comfort of home. Pete was born January 16, 1964, in Eagle Butte, SD, to Jerry and Sandy "Marshall" Longbrake.
He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Phil and Hazel Marshall, during Pete's life he had 5 children, Jason "Mickey" Amendola of Eden Prairie, MN, Alyssa "Micheal" Swift Hawk of Timber Lake, SD, Trastin "Jory" Longbrake of Swiftbird, Lashaunee "Randell" Chasing Hawk, Mobridge, SD, Jerry "Brittnee" Longbrake of Eagle Butte, SD. During Pete's young life he spent most of his time with several of his family members, the Dillabaugh family ,the Bob Kessler family, Jess Knight family, and the Lyle Ducheneaux family and the Tony Ducheneaux family. Pete was always a hard worker, he made his goal in life to show his children how to be hard workers. During Pete's life he was an exceptional ranch hand, a wild land firefighter, he worked construction, environmental protection department, along with several other jobs. Pete was a friend to everyone, it didn't matter who you were his door was always open. Pete resided 14 miles north of Eagle Butte along highway 63 for the last 20 years. Pete enjoyed living a quiet life in the country and taking care of his horses. During Pete's final days Pete was surrounded by love from his children and grandchildren each of whom he was immensely proud of.
Pete was survived by his mother, Sandy Ward, siblings, Rhonda "John" Ackley, Gerald Mac "Audrey" Longbrake, Perry "Kristi" Longbrake, 5 children, Jason, Alyssa, Trastin, Lashaunee, and Jerry.
Pete was proceeded in death by his paternal grandparents, Delbert "Marrietta" Longbrake, maternal grandparents, Erving "Ruby" Marshall, father, Jerry Longbrake and sister, Jeri'lynn Longbrake
