Mass of Christian Burial for Pete Krumm, age 89, of Trail City will be at 10 AM, MT, Saturday, July 6, 2013 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Trail City. Burial will be at the Trail City Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be from 1-3 PM CT at the funeral home and starting at 5 PM MT at the church Friday with a prayer service at 7 PM MT. Pete passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at Mobridge Regional Hospital.
Peter Anthony Krumm was born on October 17, 1923 to Jacob and Anna (Wolf) Krumm in Hague, ND. When he was six months old his family came in a covered wagon to homestead near Trail City. He attended country school until the eighth grade when he helped take over the family farm due to his father's illness. On September 17, 1946 he married Marie Senger at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Trail City. In the early 1950's Pete began his own farm and ranch near the family homestead. He continued to farm and ranch there until the time of his passing.
Pete was a Dewey County Commissioner for many years. He was also an active member in the church and stressed the importance of keeping the Sabbath day holy. He was gifted and talented in various ways. He was very fulfilled with his lifestyle including his livestock and land. Above all family came first for Pete.
Pete is survived by eight children, Betty (Richard) Parent of Ware, MA, Steve Krumm of Polson, MT, Pat (Robert) Mosio of Ludlow, MA, Debbie (Dan) Holzer of Vancouver, WA, Lonnie (Dana) Krumm of Belle Fourche, SD, Sheila Dougherty of Vancouver, WA, Colleen (Dave) Voeller of Harvey, ND, Renee (Richard) Scherer of Timber Lake, SD; 22 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, three sisters, Mary Seurer of St. Paul, MN, Regina (Val) Goldade of Rapid City, SD, Betty (Gill) Haar of Watertown, SD and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, an infant son, Todd, and brothers, Jim Krumm and Valentine Krumm.
Casketbearers will be Toby Keller, Jim Krumm Jr., Gill Haar, Robert Mosio, Paul Krumm, Paulette Sjogren, Richard Parent, and Val Goldade.
Honorary bearers will be Pete's grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Ushers will be Richard Scherer and Pat Aberle.
