Catholic Funeral Service for Percy K. Good Iron Sr. age 87 of Fort Yates, ND will be 11:00 AM Saturday, May 4, 2019 at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Fort Yates. Interment will be in the St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Kesling Funeral Home of Mobridge. Visitation will be Friday, May 3, 2019 beginning at 5:00 PM with a Scriptural wake service at 7:00 PM at the church. Percy passed away Sunday, April 28, 2019 at IHS Hospital in Fort Yates, ND.

Percy was born September 13, 1931 at the Fort Yates Hospital to Sam Good Iron and Rose Renville Good Iron. He had a brother Carl Good Iron, two sisters, Magdeline Jones and Lillian White Temple.

He was baptized at St. Peter's Catholic Church and graduated elementary school at St. Peters Mission School. He played football and ran track while attending Standing Rock High School. After four years at Sioux Sanatorium due to tuberculosis. Percy entered the Air Force in 1951. He was stationed in England during the Korean War.

Percy returned and married Fern Young Bear. Together they went to Oakland, California. Percy graduated business school at Healds with a degree in Accounting. It was here, their son Percy Jr. was born. After returning home to North Dakota, Percy worked for the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe, the Bureau of Indian Affairs. Percy met his 2 nd wife LaDean Holy Bear and welcomed his 2 nd son Trevor Good Iron.

Percy played softball for the Chemical Prevention team and was a very good bowler. He loved to watch sports, and followed the Oakland Raiders, New York Yankees, and Notre Dame teams.

Percy was a good, honest, dependable, generous man and worked hard his entire life.

He leaves his two sons, Percy Jr. and Trevor and one daughter, Alicia Keoke, who gave him five grandchildren: Leslie Rose, Goe-Mea-Ahea, and Traven, Mike and Anthony Keoke Russell, two great-grandchildren: Lilliana and Anthony.

Preceded in death by all three siblings, and parents.
